Your Oppososition Letters to Bill AB1822 are needed NOW:

In an email this evening, we read that Assemblymember Sandré Swanson and representatives of the California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) have failed to make the constructive changes to Assembly Bill 1822 that would have let the massage industry consider supporting their proposed, though premature, changes to the law established by SB 731 less than one year ago. Instead, the bill has been stripped down to include only one provision, negating the countless hours that AMTA-CA government relations, our lobbyists and other massage industry stakeholders invested in compromise and collaboration. This one provision is one that is tremendously insulting in light of the complete lack of compromise the bill now represents: AB 1822 would add two additional law enforcement representatives (one from the CPCA and one from the California State Sheriffs Association) to the board of the California Massage Therapy Council.

If you are a member in ANY Massage Organization and you value your State Certification, PLEASE do a search for AB 1822, find your Senator's email & snail mail address. Write letters, emails, ask your clients, friends and family to do the same.
